I thought I was always early on Christmas cards, but I was surprised this year when I got my first Christmas card a couple weeks before Thanksgiving! Since I had the week of Thanksgiving off of work, I got to work on making some Christmas decor, including this awesome Christmas card display board.
Upcycled Christmas Card Display – Merry Mail
I’ve had this door (along with some others) sitting in my guest room for a couple years and finally decided to do something with it. I made a few doors into porch signs and sold them at craft fairs, but decided that this door was too wide for a porch sign so I decided to turn it into a Christmas card display board.
This Christmas card display is quite easy to make. I pulled out my handy-dandy Silhouette Cameo to design the “Merry Mail” saying across the top. I used some twine and simply wrapped it around the board, nailing it with a staple gun in the back as I went in order to make my lines (somewhat) straight. I tried to keep them taught, but knew that the weight of the Christmas cards would pull the twine down as well. To attach the Christmas cards onto the display, I picked up a few mini clothespins (with glitter!) so I can simply hang the card as they come in the mail.
I can’t wait to get more Christmas cards in the mail and see this display all filled!
I’ve teamed up with a few bloggy friends to show off some other amazing holiday crafts using our Silhouette machines. Make sure you check out the other posts below!
